Magic Resume works without signing in — building resumes and exporting PDFs needs no account. So when should you register?

Do you even need to sign in?

Signed out (local mode)

Your resume lives only in this browser, visible only to you. Great for making one quickly. Downside: switch devices or clear the cache and it’s gone; no AI, no sharing, no multi-device.

Signed in (cloud mode)

Resumes are stored in the cloud, and it unlocks AI features (AI Lab, AI PDF import): plus multi-device sync, automatic backup of every version, and share links to collect comments.

How to sign up / in

1

Open sign-in

Click the account avatar at the top right (or go to the sign-in page). You’ll see Log in to Magic Resume. First time? Click Sign up.
2

Choose a method

Three options, pick any:
  • Continue with Google
  • Continue with GitHub
  • Continue with email (enter your email → get a code / set a password)
Google / GitHub is the easiest — one click, no new password to remember.
3

Turn on cloud sync

After signing in, cloud sync is off by default — whether your data goes to the cloud is your call. Go to Settings → Cloud Sync and turn on Enable cloud sync (you’ll see a short data notice first). From then on, changes on this device sync to the cloud automatically.
Already made resumes locally — will signing in lose them? No. Your existing local resumes stay; once cloud sync is on, they’re synced up to the cloud.

What else is in your account

Click the account avatar to find: Profile, Settings, Language switch, and Sign out — plus your Subscription usage (current plan, how many AI runs are left this period). To unlock all AI capabilities you can Upgrade to Pro (see Pricing; ⚠️ some capabilities may be marked “Coming soon”).
Cloud mode needs the backend online. On the official magic-resume.cn everything is ready; if you self-hosted, cloud sync/AI require you to deploy the backend too — that’s a technical task, see the Developer Handbook.
