# Subscription & billing

> What the free tier does, what paid adds, and where to upgrade.

Building resumes and exporting PDFs are **free** and need no account. **AI (AI Lab, AI PDF import) needs a signed-in account** — run it for free on **your own API key**, or subscribe to use platform credits (no key setup) and unlock more.

## Free vs paid

## How to upgrade

In the account menu, click **Upgrade to Pro** (or **Upgrade plan**), pick a tier, and complete the subscription. On success you'll see **Subscription created**. Your **remaining quota** is always visible in your account.

  **Tiers, prices, and features are configured in the backend and may change** — go by what the in-app upgrade page shows. Some capabilities may be marked "Coming soon".

  You can use AI without subscribing — **sign in**, then add **your own API key** in [Settings → Model Configuration](/en/guide/settings) (used by the backend instead of platform credits; the key stays in your browser).
